Scandia Food & Gifts, Inc. was founded in 1983. The company first had an initial focus on only importing Norwegian Salmon in partnership with Torris Products from Bodo, Norway.

We turned our salmon business to a larger Scandinavian (Swedish~Norwegain~Danish~Finnish) retail store after many customer requests wanting more than just salmon. At the time we only had a small store located in South Norwalk, CT to begin with, but in 1997 we moved to a much larger retail store (3,500 sqf) on 30 High St in Norwalk, where we are operating from today.  We have our store front as well as our mail order business in the same building.
In 1993 we acquired a 2nd retail store in Farmington, CT which was operated by Tre Kronor (Three Crowns) prior to our acquisition. However, in 2004 we closed the store due to the increase and high volume of our Mail-Order within the state, but as well change in ownership of Scandia Food & Gifts.

In 1996 that we established our first e-commerce website which has now become one of the leading online stores for Scandinavian itemsproducts; we ship packages daily all over the USA.

In March of 2008 we opened our first in-house Coffee House. We serve traditional Scandinavian open-faced sandwiches, baked goods ~ cookies and cakes, as well as every week on Thursday-Saturday a daily lunch "Dagens Lunch".
